Pat Benatar
Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo Lit Up the Night!
PAT BENATAR & Neil Giraldo
It was a beautiful evening at the new Headliner Concert venue, Concerts on the Green at Qualcomm Stadium. As the sun started to set, and the cool summer breeze drifted through the outdoor arena, the audience fell quiet, and the excitement could be felt in the air.
Opening act Bedford Grove seized the moment, took to the stage, and started grooving with their soulful songs, “Devil Child,” “In the Car,” and “Scat.” They were an immediate crowd pleaser, with the horn section and electrifying keyboard solos getting the crowds on their feet and ready for more…

Bedford Grove
All that you could ever ask for –and more-- was delivered by Grammy award winning Pat Benatar and her lead guitarist Neil Giraldo. They took to the stage with incredible gusto, enticing the fans to sing along to her classic Rock ‘n’ Roll hits, “Love Is A Battlefield,” “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” and “Heartbreaker.”
Benatar wowed the crowds with her infamous hits, resulting in a burst of energy from the diverse crowd. Old and new fans alike were dancing on the lawn, singing along to her powerful voice.
All in all, it was a great evening, topped off with some fantastic Rock ‘n’ Roll music. A great thanks goes out to Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Bedford Grove, and all race participants that came out to enjoy the show.

Local Band Showcase -
Manganista
This week, Rock 'n' Roll Marathon is proud to present...
Manganista.
Manganista takes influence from a variety of different musical styles, life experiences and most of all, simple observation. Featuring a diverse collection of rhythm patterns, melodies, and vocal harmonies, Manganista has a sound that is ominous and upbeat, positive yet direct, familiar and at the same time bohemian.
They are a rare band that somehow has the ability to dabble in a variety of music styles but still maintains an overall sound that is their very own. Since a good chunk of the band grew up listening to groups like Oingo Boingo, Talking Heads and The Police, the influence definitely shines through at times leaving me to conclude that Manganista plays some sort of “New Wave” hybrid.
Manganista has performed at many venues including House of Blues here in San Diego, Knitting Factory in Hollywood, The Casbah in San Diego, The Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana, and The Viper Room in Hollywood to name a few. They released their album “Propaganda in Stereo” last October.
